About Commercial Patio Furniture aluminum patio and pool furniture.

Enjoy life more and experience the quality of outdoor living with A&K Enterprise patio furniture. Our furniture is made to compliment your space not only with form, but with function. Our aluminum patio furniture can be a great addition to your outdoor entertaining area. You can choose your own colors to match your home or pool area then we custom manufacture each piece as to your order and seal it with a sand powder coating so each piece of furniture will stay looking like new over time. With Aluminum patio furniture you will find that the quality is well worth it in the long run. When compared to wood patio furniture, which requires sanding and refinishing, or to expensive wrought iron that will rust, aluminum patio furniture out weighs these others. Cleaning and maintenance with aluminum patio furniture on the other hand is easy and inexpensive!

Aluminum is a lightweight and easily molded metal that will not rust. It was first used to construct outdoor furniture in the early 1960's, when it was made from extruded, hollow-core tubing. This is the construction method we still use today, primarily for pool area furniture and lawn chairs. These pieces are very lightweight which allows for easy portability, stacking and function.

Here at A&K Enterprise we manufacture the highest quality of aluminum furniture pieces from raw aluminum tubing which is then cut, bent to the desired shape and welded with heli-ach welding method. The frames are then sandblasted to remove any impurities on the surface of the metal and to roughen up the surface so the paint will adhere better. From there the frames are sprayed with a powder-coated finish. This process of powder coating entails applying colored polyester powders, then baking these powders into the aluminum frame at 400 degrees. This process will determine the final color of the frame and adds extensive durability to each piece.

Cleaning and maintenance of your new Commercial aluminum patio furniture.

Here is some free information to read on the cleaning and maintenance of your new aluminum patio furniture. Improper care and maintenance will reduce the life of your new patio furniture just the same as it will with your vehicle.

You should clean and wax your new aluminum furniture frames. The most damaging elements are suntan oils, human perspiration, and even environmental pollutants. These materials will damage your finish aided by the heat of the sun over time as they are cooked by the sun into the finish of your aluminum furniture and without the proper cleaning and waxing, damage to the finish will result.

Many commercial pools will have signs that require persons to put down towels on the furniture before sitting or lying on it. This is to limit the exposure to suntan oil, body oils and acids so that the vinyl won't stain as badly. While this is difficult to enforce and doesn't prevent all contaminants from reaching the finish it does help somewhat. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and a brush with a long handle on it, such as is used for cleaning cars will work however and will assist in keeping your furniture looking new for a long time.

Dish washing detergent is my favorite because it has emulsifiers that break down oils and is almost scum free. We recommend that you clean your outdoor aluminum furniture this way about every three weeks, and ideally try to get the pollutants off immediately. The aluminum frames parts of your patio furniture should be waxed with a light, non-compound car wax, such as "Turtle Wax".

Refinishing of Your aluminum patio furniture.

Once your aluminum patio furniture has been exposed to nature's elements for a few years, it may be time to consider having your furniture refinished.

Re-finishing will turn your worn-out furniture into a looking like-new condition and can be accomplished for about half of the delivered cost of buying new. This is especially true if high quality outdoor furniture was purchased originally and your investment needs to be protected.

If the patio furniture's paint is still in good condition and if you are not trying to make a major color change, but the straps have broken, faded, or just needs replacing then the frames can be re-strapped. This is regularly done with aluminum patio furniture to make it look like new again. If the paint is flaking, peeling, spotted (due to salt air), or if it is a liquid-based coat, then your furniture must be sand blasted prior to Re-finishing.

Sand blasting removes metal from the frame and can only be done about three times before the metal becomes too thin to produce a quality result then the tubing would need to be replaced. Once re-coated with a powder finish, in which particles of polyester powder are electro-statically charged and applied to the aluminum frame, the frame is then baked in a powder coat oven at 400 degrees in order to cure the finish. This ensures that any moisture or gas present in the old finish is removed from the frame.

The frame can then be double baked, if necessary. The result is a fresh powder coat, which is far superior to solvent-based paint finishes. The powder coating provides for excellent durability, UV stability, corrosion resistance, and the beauty of a new car finish.
